Cool Winds Lodge is an upmarket, 4-star graded, Bed and Breakfast in Hilton, only 12 minutes from Pietermaritzburg. It is closely situated to the N3 highway to Durban and Johannesburg, which makes it a very popular stopover for businessmen and holidaymakers. 

Hilton offers it's own meander of craft shops; a variety of restaurants and is the starting point to the famous Midlands Meander. Leading Private schools (Hilton College, St Anne’s and Cowan House) and various tourist attractions are situated in this area.  This include Midmar Dam, Howick and Karkloof Falls, and the Nelson Mandela Capture site.
